Glossary: German, Persian, English

Terms you will come across at the practice and with your health insurer, in three languages and briefly explained.

German: Gesundheitskarte (eGK)
Persian کارت بیمه‌ی درمانی
English health insurance card
The card issued by your health insurer. Please bring it to the first appointment in each quarter.
German: Elektronische Patientenakte (ePA)
Persian پرونده‌ی الکترونیکی بیمار (ePA)
English electronic patient record (ePA)
A digital record set up by your statutory health insurer unless you object. Practices store information such as findings in it. Before details about mental health conditions are stored, you must be told that you can object. For children the parents manage the record; from their 15th birthday young people manage it themselves. Using it is voluntary.
Good to know: If you do not want an ePA, you can contact your health insurer and object, even later on. The record is then deleted.
The practice does not operate the ePA. We cannot guarantee this information; please ask your health insurer for up-to-date details.
